What is Attraction Marketing?

Attraction marketing is a term that’s been a common discussion among marketers out there. You might have read or heard about attraction marketing elsewhere, but what is it exactly?

In short, attraction marketing is all about branding yourself as an expert in any company. You learn to become the hunted instead of the hunter.

Picture a lawyer for example. A lawyer does not go out there recruiting clients or handing out fliers and saying he’s the best in town. He simply attracts clients who need his legal advice and expertise in law. In other words, people come to him.

Attraction marketing sounds simple, but many people just don’t know how to be that hunted expert. Actually, there’s a science behind it all.

First of all, look at the flow chart of the ordinary marketing:

Advertising -> Filtering -> Pitching

In ordinary marketing, you advertise to as many people as possible, filtering the right prospects then pitching them about joining your opportunity.

There are 3 main problems about this method:

-The advertising is not targeted, you waste money on people who are not interested.

-Filtering the right prospects may consume a lot of time

-Just pitching your opportunity is guaranteed to get low response. Especially if you have no past success. You’re just like a door-to-door salesman trying to sell people something.

Now let’s take a look at the flow chart of attraction marketing:

Filtering -> Advertising -> Consulting

With attraction marketing, you only target those who are interested in your offer, advertise to them, then be an expert consultant to their problem. You give something that is of great value to them upfront.

Moreover, as you’re only targeting people who are already interested in the business, you’ll definitely get higher conversion rate. Your advertising is cost-effective.

You see, in ordinary marketing, you try to sell your business by saying that after they join, they will get their training. The problem is, even if you are really going to give them top-notch training upon joining, most people won’t believe the training will be as good as you say it will.

Think you were approached by someone you don’t know, do you think you will be convinced just by his sales pitch? Maybe you will, but chances are slim.

Now, let’s take another approach. What if you meet someone this time, he’s giving you a lot of meaningful tips and advice that you can really put into practice to build your business? I bet you will be interested to partner up with him.

So which one are you?

Are you one of the thousands of other distributors using the same replicated sites provided by your company? Are you just calling leads and inviting them into conference calls like everyone else?

Are you just offering the business or do you have something even more to offer personally as a leader and mentor?

So stop advertising your opportunity, and start promoting your expertise and knowledge!

Everything you say or do needs to strengthen your position as an expert and a leader who can show your prospects exactly how to get what they really want. Because that’s the only reason why your prospects will join you in your business.
